Instructions for the Preparation and Submission of Papers for Publication in the
ISTDM 2006 Conference Proceedings

This information is also available at the ISTDM site:  www.istdm2006.org

The Conference Proceedings will be published in the journal Semiconductor Science and Technology (SST), published by the Institute of Physics (IOP).    Manuscripts are to be submitted online directly to the Semiconductor Science and Technology web site (not to the ISTDM site) by May 15, 2006.

1.  IOP Copyright:  Complete and submit an IOP Copyright Form,  http://authors.iop.org/atom/help.nsf/0/F20EC7D4A1A670AA80256F1C0053EEFF?OpenDocument, which is required for inclusion in the ISTDM 2006 Proceedings.  PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU SIGN THE COMPLETED IOP COPYRIGHT FORM; then scan and submit it by email to sst@iop.org or fax (if you are outside the U.K.) to: +44 117 9200685 (or +44 (0) 117 9200685 if you are in the U.K.).  The U.K.’s country code, which is already included in the fax #s above, is 44.

            a.  Enter “ISTDM” and your ISTDM Technical Program session number for the “article reference number” on the copyright form.

2.  Manuscript preparation:  The manuscript should be prepared in “camera ready” style as in the IOP Word guidelines,
(http://authors.iop.org/atom/help.nsf/7765E7F03B07DE5080257020002E4D9B/$File/IOPWordGuidelines.pdf)
with figures and captions embedded in the text.  Note the manuscript will not be published exactly as submitted.  The paper will of course be reviewed, and IOP will reformat the final paper to meet their exact journal standards.  Therefore, do not worry about the exact details of the formatting.  However, “camera ready” format for your submission is desired because it allows an accurate measure of the paper length.   The maximum paper length is 5 pages for contributed papers and 8 pages for invited papers.

Please use the Times Roman or Times New Roman font and font size 11 for the main text.  The text area should cover 7” x 10” or 17.77 cm x 25.4 cm.  The left margin should be 11/16” or 1.7 cm; the right margin should be 5/8” or 1.5 cm.  If you do not use MS Word, please use a style like that in the above example.

IOP prefers authors to submit their electronic source e.g, Word, TeX and figure files as separate files. IOP will prepare a pdf based on these submitted files. If you use pdf format, you will also have to submit the figures separately (as .jpg, .gif, .bmp, etc. as described in the attached IOP Word guidelines).
